Work with BizStubs
We're a small, focused team building self-serve payroll software for U.S. small businesses. When we hire, we hire people who care about getting the details right.
Who We Are
Small team, real impact
BizStubs is self-serve payroll software for U.S. small businesses, built by the team behind PayCub. We support businesses from sole proprietors to bookkeepers managing payroll for 40+ companies.
We're a lean team and we intend to stay that way. When we add someone, it's because there's real, ongoing work that needs a real person behind it. We value clear communication, ownership of your work, and people who take the time to understand the product they're supporting.

Payroll Support Specialist
About the Role
We're looking for a Payroll Support Specialist to join the BizStubs team on a part-time basis. This is a hands-on role at the intersection of U.S. payroll knowledge and software support. You'll be the person our customers turn to when they have questions about their payroll, their withholding, or how to get the most out of BizStubs.
What You'll Do
- - Respond to customer support inquiries via email and live chat, covering payroll questions, tax withholding questions, and BizStubs feature questions
- - Help new users get set up: walk them through company setup, employee configuration, vacation pay options, and W-4 settings
- - Help bookkeepers and accountants managing multiple client companies get the most out of Bookkeeper Pro
- - Identify and document common support patterns to help improve BizStubs's guides and FAQ resources
- - Flag bugs or unusual behaviour to the development team with clear reproduction steps
- - Assist with year-end W-2 questions and guide clients through the process
What We're Looking For
- - Formal payroll training or direct payroll administration experience is required. You must be confident working with FICA (Social Security and Medicare), federal and state income tax withholding, W-2s, and federal tax deposit schedules, and comfortable referencing IRS resources like the Tax Withholding Estimator when needed
- - Experience using or supporting payroll or accounting software
- - Clear, patient written communication. Most support happens over email, and being able to explain something clearly without jargon matters
- - Organized and self-directed. This is a remote, part-time role with flexible hours. You'll manage your own time and workload
- - Comfortable with technology. You don't need to be a developer, but you should be comfortable navigating web-based software and learning new tools
- - Based in the United States
Nice to Have
- - Experience supporting SaaS or web-based software
Hours and Compensation
This is a part-time contractor role at approximately 10 to 15 hours per week. Compensation is competitive and based on experience. We'll discuss specifics once we've had a chance to connect.
How to Apply
Send an email to [email protected] with a brief note about your background and why this role is a good fit. No formal cover letter required. Just tell us about yourself in your own words.
